Doug Cole started flying at age 14 at Evergreen Airport, Vancouver, WA.  He soloed at 16, got his Private at 17 and later got enough other ratings to flight instruct and work as a commercial pilot.  He’s lived in Bellingham since 1981 and is still an active pilot.
